Loyola’s Theatre Program strives to make the most out of a liberal arts education. Through this program, students cultivate an expansive foundation of all aspects of the art form; from literature, theatre history and criticism to directing and design. To ensure growth and success within the program, students are encouraged to perform, design, and direct in numerous theatre opportunities made available by the department.
In addition, students can receive course credit for participation in supervised professional work or internships with established theatres in the area. A word of advice to all majors: Take THTR 203: Dramatic Structure and Theatrical Process first, as this course is the prerequisite to all areas of study within the major. Sequenced courses (i.e. those labeled with I, II, or III) should be taken in order. See your advisor or the Director if your schedule cannot be worked out in a logical sequence.
