Report a leak, help save water, and receive a sustainability kit.
Our Water Bounty Project aims to reduce Loyola’s water waste due to leaks and other plumbing issues, and we need your help. Our biggest challenge is locating leaks and water waste on campus. You can help by filling out a work request form whenever you see a leak.
What to report:
- Leaky faucets, showers, etc.
- Continually flushing toilets
- Rushing water in a pipe
- Irrigation systems running during or right after it rains
Note: if the leak you report is an emergency, call Campus Safety at (773) 508-SAFE. They will route you to the appropriate team. Emergency leaks include continually flushing toilets, rushing water in a pipe, and flooded spaces. If in doubt, call Campus Safety.
When to report:
Report leaks anytime, anywhere you see them, including classrooms, labs, and residence halls. Please do not assume someone knows about the leak or has already reported it. You do not need to go through your RA to report a leak in a residence hall. The ARCHIBUS work order system is for everyone, and only those who fill it out will receive the sustainability kit reward.
How to report:
Fill out a work request through ARCHIBUS. Make sure to include #WaterBounty in the Action Requested box.
Learn more info on how to submit a work request here.
If you haven’t heard from us two weeks after receiving your Work Order Completion email, or if you have any questions regarding the Water Bounty program, contact us at sustainability@luc.edu.
Why are we doing this?
Loyola promotes water conservation because water is a valuable natural resource, and we are fortunate enough to have access to water from Lake Michigan. Loyola, as a community, can make a difference by preserving and protecting water resources.
Additionally, wasting water is expensive. One dripping faucet can waste up to five gallons of water per day, or 2,082 gallons per year, dramatically increasing the university’s water bills.
