Ms. Amy Jewel is the Chicago City Advisor with the City Energy Project.

Ms. Jewel partners closely with the Chicago Office of the Mayor to develop new strategies and approaches to advance energy efficiency efforts. Current efforts include implementation of the Chicago Benchmarking & Transparency Ordinance, managing the Retrofit Chicago Energy Challenge, and encouraging building operator trainings as well as ongoing energy code compliance improvements. Prior to joining IMT in 2014, Ms. Jewel worked as a private sector consultant and helped develop energy and climate policies for over two dozen local governments. In other previous positions, Ms. Jewel has also served as an environmental educator and worked as a fundraiser for a small nonprofit organization. A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Ms. Jewel is now based in Chicago and has lived and worked in New York City and various parts of California. She holds a B.A. in Psychology from Columbia University and a Master’s of Environmental Science and Management from the Bren School at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Ms. Jewel is a LEED Accredited Professional for Operations and Maintenance.
