Abrams Challenge Launch

The Abrams Sustainable Business Challenge: Imagine. Create. Launch.

Announcing the 2024 Abrams Sustainable Business Challenge

This October, Loyola kicks off the third year of the Abrams Sustainable Business Challenge. The challenge invites Loyola students to envision, plan, and launch green business ventures. Simulating a real-life entrepreneurial process, student teams will pitch their ideas to a panel of expert judges for the chance to win up to $20,000 in prize money.

Registration opens October 18, 2023, and runs through February 5, 2024. Teams do not need a fully formed business idea before signing up. Interested students can join an online webinar on November 28 for help coming up with possible ventures, and faculty mentors will help registered teams develop their business concepts over the next several months.

Students can also sign up for spring semester classes that complement the challenge. These courses include: INTR 201, Introduction to Entrepreneurship; ENVS333/433, Introduction to the Circular Economy; ENVS 363, Sustainable Business Management; and MGMT 480, Recognizing Entrepreneurial Opportunities.

Teams have until February 26, 2024, to submit video pitches and written summaries of their ventures. Judges will then select six teams to participate in the final pitch competition on April 19. The top three teams will receive prize money to help them turn their green business ideas into reality. View the video below for highlights from last year’s competition.
