The Loyola Center at Newcastle is a joint study abroad center between Loyola University Maryland and Newcastle University. Newcastle University ranks among the top 200 universities in the world, the top 20 in Britain, and the top dozen research facilities in the United Kingdom. Loyola University Maryland Center at Newcastle University has developed its academic curriculum to offer undergraduates a study abroad experience for either one semester or one year. There are several trips and activities included in the program costs each semester. Previous trips have included but are not limited to: York, London, Durham, Scottish Highlands, Alnwick Castle (site of Harry Potter's Hogwarts), Edinburgh, and more!

Newcastle University is located in northeast England in the city of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. The city is located 1.5 hours from Edinburgh, Scotland and 3.5 hours from London. The Scandinavian countries, Germany, and Ireland are accessible by ferry. Continental Europe can be reached by air or rail. Newcastle is regarded as the capital of the North East of England. It is a lively, compact, modern and cosmopolitan city, located beside one of the North's major rivers, the Tyne. Newcastle has gained a reputation as one of the UK's favorite student cities. One in six people in Newcastle is a student, helping create the city's vibrant social scene.
Students are offered a choice of four distinct study abroad fields:
- Arts and Humanities
- Business and Finance
- Psychology and Biomedical/ Biomolecular Sciences
- Science, Agriculture, and Engineering
There are a wide variety of courses in the four different fields of study at Newcastle. The Loyola Center at Newcastle offers a great deal of flexibility in the courses students may take. Students also have the ability to take a variety of courses in different fields or can focus on one specific subject.

Students will live in Newcastle University accommodation. There are three designated accommodations that students will live in during their time in Newcastle. These are fully furnished flats with shared kitchens and lounge areas. You will share your flat with British and international students and will have your own private bedroom. All of the accommodation options available at the Loyola Center are self-catered, meaning students are responsible for preparing their own meals.
Total: $21,000 for semester and $42,000 for the academic year (this includes tuition, housing, and additional fees).
