Ryan SC Wong

Coordinator, Student Organizations and Engagement

  • Ryan joined the CSE team at Loyola University Chicago in October 2021. He received his M.A. in Sociology from Loyola University Chicago and B.A. in Sociology from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He is currently in the Sociology Ph.D. program at Loyola University Chicago.

    In his new role as a Coordinator, Ryan supports the Recognized Student Organization community through registration, recognition, activity request, and the overall organization management. He also supports the Sponsored Student Organization community through registration and recognition. In addition, he advise and oversees the Campus Activities Network (CAN).

    During his graduate career, Ryan has been an active community member. He has held leadership positions in three graduate student organizations: Graduate Student Advisory Council, Enhancing Diversity in Graduate Education, and the Graduate Student Association within the Department of Sociology. As a student leader, he spearheaded multiple projects, including the Graduate Student Manual, the International Graduate Student Manual, and a Resource Guide for Graduate, Professional, and Adult Students. Also, he co-founded a graduate student-led group, Sociologists of Religion at Loyola.

    Outside of work, Ryan likes to explore the city of Chicago, walk around different parks, and explore different restaurants, while listening to soft and slow music.
