From social and interpersonal activities, to cultural and community service opportunities, the residence hall system will give you a chance to become involved and make a host of friends. And you will always be able to count on the friendship and support of our Residence Life staff members who live in the halls.

Loyola Companions

Sponsoring Department: Campus Ministry

The Loyola Companions are peer ministers who reach out to the first year students and welcome them to the Loyola community. As a weekly presence in the residence halls, the Companions strive to build community through leadership in faith and service. Companions are friendly faces who share upcoming campus events, lead students to St. Thomas of Canterbury Soup Kitchen, and take part in retreats, immersions, hospitality events, and liturgies.

Loyola promotes a community of inclusivity and mutual respect informed by our Jesuit Catholic identity. We believe in cura personalis ("care of the whole person"), the dignity and value of every individual, and in our call to be persons for others. We acknowledge and celebrate diversity. We promote honesty, compassion, and respect. We are committed to working toward a more just world. If you need support, we are here. If you desire to work towards building our community, we offer many initiatives to help.
