Prerequisite: Completion of Surgery clerkship.  
Special Note:

Open to MS3 and MS4 students who have satisfied the prerequisite.

Students will rotate for 2 weeks at MacNeal Hospital and 2 weeks at Gottlieb Memorial Hospital. 

Description: The student will participate as a member of the vascular surgery team in diagnosing and treating patients with vascular disease. This experience will involve participation in the outpatient clinics, vascular noninvasive laboratory and the inpatient service. Inpatient responsibilities will include pre- and postoperative care.  The student will gain experience in the inpatient and outpatient operating room as well as the catheterization lab in the surgical and endovascular care of patients with vascular disease. The student is expected to attend weekly Vascular Surgery Division Conferences, Department of Surgery Morbidity and Mortality Conference and Department of Surgery Grand Rounds. Interested students will be encouraged to complete a short clinical review.
Method of Evaluation:

Written evaluation by faculty and residents based on patient care performance and ability to assimilate knowledge and formulate treatment plans. 

Grading is Honors/High Pass/Pass/Fail
