Description: | The student will be responsible for caring for benign gynecologic patients preoperatively, scrubbing unto their surgeries intraoperatively and participating in their postoperative care. Students will also participate weekly in a multidiscplinary gynecologic clinic focusing on patients with pelvic pain, endometriosis, fibroids, and other surgical pathology. The student will be expected to formulate differential diagnoses, propose appropriate treatment plans and implement treatment plans. The student will be expected to function as a subintern by helping to place orders and evaluate complex patients with supervision. The student will be expected to give a 30-minute presentation on a benign gynecologic topic at the end of the rotation. |
Method of Evaluation: | Instructor's evaluation of clinical performance, review of case list, reading and knowledge of current literature and oral presentation. |
