Ultrasound Interest Group
Mission Statement
The Ultrasound Interest Group (USIG) aims to provide both preclinical and clinical students with opportunities to learn and practice ultrasound techniques. Through attending and resident-guided workshops, members will gain hands-on experience in Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) and ultrasound-guided procedures. Join our organization to enhance your skills and knowledge in this critical area of medical practice.
Organization Goals
USIG is dedicated to fostering the learning and application of ultrasound techniques through a variety of activities, including hands-on workshops, interest group meetings, independent study, group practice sessions, and community events. We emphasize collaborative teaching, enabling students to share their knowledge and techniques, thereby improving their understanding of complex concepts and procedures.
Development Plan
In the coming year, USIG plans to offer lectures from faculty across various specialties, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the diverse applications of ultrasound in medicine. Additionally, we will organize workshops led by ultrasound-trained student mentors, residents, and faculty members, ensuring a well-rounded and practical learning experience.
