Health Professionals Recruitment and Exposure Program (HPREP)
Health Professionals Recruitment and Exposure Program (HPREP)
HPREP is a program for 9th-12th grade students in the Chicagoland area that is dedicated to encouraging high school students from underrepresented groups and/or disadvantaged backgrounds to pursue careers as health professionals. This free program takes place over seven Saturday morning sessions at the Stritch School of Medicine. Students engage in a variety of structured activities that include hands-on anatomy and suturing workshops, healthcare professional and student panels, and other educational programs. Participants work in small group settings each week with one to three medical student mentors whom they can rely on for support even after the program ends. Additionally, students have the opportunity to work on a capstone presentation about a health topic of their choosing over the course of the program, which they give at the closing session.
