STRITCH SCHOOL OF MEDICINE FINANCIAL AID

A Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine (SSOM) education is a significant financial investment with immeasurable dividends. More than 80% of our student body receives financial assistance, usually a combination of loans and scholarships. In most cases, students, and their families are expected to shoulder a portion of the financial responsibility.

The Stritch School of Medicine’s 2022–2023 tuition is $62,530.  Living expenses, health insurance, books, supplies, mandatory fees, and transportation average around $22,000 per year.  The Financial Aid Office's aim is to create a package of funding sources for students to help them meet their financial obligations at a realistic cost. Students may seek additional loans, scholarships, and grants by visiting their local library or browsing the Web. 

FINANCIAL AID PROCESS

Students who are admitted to the Stritch School of Medicine may submit a financial aid application beginning October 1st, prior to matriculation. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at www.fafsa.ed.gov no later than March 4th. The school code for Loyola University Chicago- Stritch School of Medicine is 001710. 

The Financial Aid Office carefully examines each student’s file and awards funding based on the financial situation of the student, his or her spouse, and parents (first-year students only). Institutional scholarships and loans awarded from the Financial Aid Office are not guaranteed from year to year. Your need is evaluated every year with the completion of the Continuing Scholarship Application. Medical students must reapply for financial aid on a yearly basis.
