About

Dr. Keough has been a leader in nursing and a dedicated member of the nursing profession for over 45 years. She currently holds a BSN, MSN (Acute Care Nurse Practitioner -ACNP) and PhD in Nursing. She also has a Certificate in Clinical Ethics. Dr. Keough’s career as a partitioner (ACNP), educator, researcher and administrator has been focused in the area of critical care/trauma, emergency care and ethics. At Loyola University ‘s Niehoff School of Nursing she held positions as faculty member, Associate Dean for Graduate Studies (2003-2009) and Dean of the School of Nursing (2009-2019). Dr. Keough retired in 2020 and now practices as a part-time ethical clinical consultant and educator at the Neiswanger Institute for Bioethics. Dr. Keough has been involved in ethics care throughout her practice and teaching career. She has taught Ethics at the School of Nursing, the Neiswanger Institute for Bioethics and the international Ethics course in Rome, Italy.
