Social Work Job Outlook
Great news for social workers! According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (2012), the expected growth for social work jobs between 2010 and 2020 will grow by 25 percent! This percent of growth is faster than the average of all other occupations. 20 percent of social workers will be needed to work with children, families and school social workers, 34 percent for healthcare, 31 percent for mental health and substance abuse while the remaining 16 percent will be needed for “other” social work roles.
