This workshop is ideal for professionals who work with groups as well as graduate students. The program will combine didactic and experiential methods to reveal how groups develop unconscious tendencies to become dependent, move into fight/flight mode, and tacitly elect members of the group to form pairs. After an introductory lecture, participants will engage in a series of problem-solving activities on the challenge course. Each challenge course event will be followed by a discussion and review, and the overall experience will be applied to other contexts at the end of the day.

Learning Objectives:

  • Be able to recognize Basic Assumption Behavior in groups
  • Identify how physical challenges may influence group behavior
  • Analyze group behavior and apply to clinical and professional contexts
  • Develop and enhance leadership skills
  • Identify various roles that group members take on

Fees:

General Admission for CEU’s: $150

Alumni, Adjunct Faculty and Field Instructors seeking CEU’s: $100

Student and Individuals Not Seeking CEU’s: $50
