Undergraduate Degrees
The BSW program promotes the Jesuit, Catholic values of social justice, care of the person, and dedicated service to others. It also promotes respect for human diversity and cultivates the knowledge, values, and skills necessary to provide compassionate service to a wide variety of clients in a range of social work roles and organizations
- SSW offers three options for undergraduate students:
Bachelor of Social Work (BSW)
An accredited BSW program with a 100-year history of excellence in social work education, the School of Social Work’s undergraduate program prepares students for rewarding careers in social services, including child welfare, community mental health, drug/alcohol rehabilitation, and developmental disabilities.
Loyola's bachelor’s in social work program offers a unique blend of knowledgeable and experienced faculty, an excellent social work curriculum with a strong liberal arts base, and a wide range of opportunities for internship. At the baccalaureate level, the school prepares students for generalist social work practice.
Five-Year BSW/MSW
School of Social Work’s BSW/MSW degree program leverages students’ undergraduate studies to accelerate their time to a master’s degree in social work. The MSW experience increases career mobility and also lends itself to a broader range of job prospects.
Social Work Minor
The Social Work minor requires the completion of six courses totaling 18 credit hours. The minor includes courses covering topics such as social work policy, human behavior, and research, combined with two electives.
