Internships
Practical experience, or internship, is built into the social work curriculum. All internship experiences are credit-bearing, offering students an opportunity to integrate and apply their academic knowledge in a real-world setting and prepare them for the responsibility of beginning professional practice.
BSW students complete a minimum of 400 internship hours while MSW students perform at least 1,000 internship hours towards their graduate degree. Advanced Standing students complete a minimum of 600 internship hours. All internship experiences are credit-bearing.
Loyola has over 1500 partnerships with agencies in Chicago and the larger Metropolitan area, which gives students access to a wide range of client populations and settings.
