Description of Library Resources, both existing and needed, as detailed by Niamh McGuigan, Head of Reference Services:

The University Libraries have strong collections to support research in all aspects of Shakespeare studies. In addition to significant monograph and serial holdings related to literary, historical, and theatrical approaches to Shakespeare research, the Libraries provide access to online resources to facilitate original research, including the Shakespeare Collection, an online database containing primary materials such as actors' prompt books; Early English Books Online, which contains digital copies of printed works before 1700; and the BBC Shakespeare Plays, streaming video recordings of theatrical productions of all of the plays. The University Libraries continues to build collections in subject areas related to both the study of Shakespeare, and the courses required for this proposed minor.
