Evening and Weekend Courses
Flexibility to Fit with Your Schedule
Life is busy. We get it. That’s why the School of Continuing and Professional Studies (SCPS) at Loyola University Chicago offers online courses and transparent scheduling options.
With an earnest commitment to your academic success and a sincere respect for your responsibilities beyond the classroom, we provide flexible courses that fit the realities of contemporary lives, including both synchronous (scheduled) and asynchronous (on your own time) components. Before enrolling in a course, for instance, you will know how many, if any, synchronous meetings you are required to attend for any given class and if those will occur on evenings or weekends.
“With Loyola’s approach to help adult learners and flexible hours, you will get through the program with ease and confidence.” Faye Chambers ’16
Online
Fully online classes can consist of synchronous and asynchronous components. Synchronous courses meet live online at a designated date and time with teachers presenting via video or audio and students participating either via chat or audio. Asynchronous means there is independent coursework to complete within a certain time frame but students are not required to be online at any specific day or time.
