Greer Scholars

Greer Scholarship Network

In the Student Academic Services unit, our purpose is to promote the lifelong success of Loyola students.  By providing opportunities for learning, growth, and reflection, we help students learn about themselves and fundamentally evolve in the way they perceive, think and act in our global society – becoming driven toward action that leads to more just communities.

In partnership with the Greer Foundation, we approach the Greer Scholars with this mission and vision and have worked to ensure the success of the Greer Scholars from one academic year to the next. Greer Scholarships are awarded to incoming first-year students with an academic investment in STEM-focused academic programs. To this end, the Greer Scholars program is dedicated to the persistence of students of color in STEM academic programs here at Loyola University Chicago.

Our program features:

  • Greer Scholars Welcome Event
  • Regular meetings with Greer Scholars Program and Academic Advisor
  • Professional and Co-curricular workshops
  • Faculty involved programs
  • Coordinated support from The Tutoring Center
  • STEM Mentor programs
  • Community building activities in Chicago
  • On-Campus Employment Assistance
  • Student Leadership Enrichments

Students interested in the Greer Scholarship program are encouraged to contact Loyola’s Office for Undergraduate Admissions at 773.274.3000 for more information about the application and selection process.
