About

Luca Badetti focuses on individual and social growth through inclusive community belonging. He holds a PhD in Disability Studies from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), with an interdisciplinary background in Clinical Psychology and Theology. He was a fellow at The Chicago Institute for Psychoanalysis. Before joining the JFRC in his native Rome, his academic experience includes teaching for Loyola University Chicago's Institute of Pastoral Studies, DePaul University's Peace, Justice and Conflict Studies program, and Adler University's Public Policy: Human Rights Advocacy program. He has done research at UIC's Institute on Disability and Human Development and provided therapy at the Chicago Developmental Disabilities Family Clinics. Over the years he has been involved with L'Arche, faith communities of shared life between people with and without intellectual disabilities, including L'Arche Chicago as Director of Community Life. He has also shared the message of growth through community as a published author, researcher, TEDx speaker, and community consultant.
