About

Albert Prieto is an all-around scholar of the ancient world, with an AB in Classical Languages from Harvard University, an MLitt in Ancient History from the University of St. Andrews, and a PhD in Classical Archaeology from the University of Texas at Austin. He has participated in fieldwork and research projects in central and southern Italy, as well as in Turkey, developing professional interests in Greek and Roman history, archaeological theory and methods, Mediterranean geoarchaeology and landscape history, history of agriculture and technology, digital imaging, and geospatial technologies. Based in Rome since 2007, he teaches courses on the archaeology, art, and history of Rome and the Mediterranean world and Western tradition at the JFRC, John Cabot University, and NYU Florence. He also participates in field and research projects, produces educational media about Roman civilization, and lectures about Roman history, archaeology, and culture to numerous visiting educational programs.
