EMPIRE LLC Photo

The purpose of the EMPIRE Living-Learning Community is to provide a space for participants in the Rambler Brotherhood Project, further fostering community and support among peers. Learning community members will build an initial community at Loyola University Chicago in their first year to develop a sense of belonging and explore their unique leadership identities as it contributes to their overall student experience.

At the end of one year in the EMPIRE Living-Learning Community, students will be able to:

  1. Question the intersections of their identities through participation in the Rambler Brotherhood Project and in-hall facilitated workshops.
  2. Give one or more examples of actions taken to work effectively with others to accomplish a shared goal.
  3. Identify five characteristics of a positive leader with shared identities and how it influences their personal leadership journey.
  4. Explain something they learned as a result of engaging in a conversation with someone who held a perspective on an issue that differed from their own.
  5. Provide an example how they have applied knowledge or skills that were developed or enhanced through participating in the LLC.
