Information outlined below is for the 2018-2019 academic year.
As you prepare for a successful end to your semester, you should also prepare for Winter Break. See how Winter Break impacts you and your building.
Winter Break Stays
Most of our buildings close for Winter Break on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at 12PM (noon) and reopen Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 12PM (noon).
There is an additional fee* of $905.00 associated with Winter Break Stay.
*Fee does not apply for residents of Baumhart Hall or International House.
The following buildings remain open during Winter Break to those who register:
- Baumhart Hall
- de Nobili Hall (additional fee)
- Fordham Hall (additional fee)
- International House
You must be a resident of one of these buildings, continuing in spring semester, and registered full-time for spring semester to participate in Winter Break Stay.
Requests and Payments are due by Friday, December 7, 2018 at 5PM.
Students in Residence Halls that Close
During Winter Break, all residential buildings not listed above are closed and no students will be permitted to return to or enter these buildings for any reason.
When leaving for Winter Break, please take any important belongings with you (medications, ID, passport, keys, etc.) as you will not be permitted access to your building/room during break. If you will be living in the same room for spring semester, take your room key with you. You may leave your belongings in your room, but again, be mindful of taking what you will need while you are away for Winter Break.
The residence halls re-open on Saturday, January 12 at 12PM (noon).
Community Meetings will take place in November and all residents are encouraged to attend regardless of Winter Break plans. During your Community Meeting, you will learn more about Winter Break Stays, preparing to leave your building, and the check-out process for students not returning after Winter Break. You will also be able to ask your RA any questions you may have.
Break Prep Checklist
In order to ensure that our buildings are safe, sanitary, and sustainable during Winter Break, students will be provided with a checklist in November.
