The First Year Milestone, “Connect With Community” is a proud foundation at Simpson Living-Learning Center. Simpson Resident Assistants try to incorporate community building into their programs, while finding ways to engage residents with other cultures and experiences in the Chicagoland area. Our very own Windy City is full of vibrant life and every corner is waiting to be explored!

Last semester, our third floor RA’s, Grace Goldensoph, Luis Rojas-Graterol, and Antonio Sorto, took their residents to Chicago’s Chinatown to explore the Chinese culture and eat some authentic Chinese cuisine! Just this past month several residents went to the Art Institute of Chicago to visit the new Van Gogh exhibit which showcases all three of Van Gogh’s Bedroom paintings. These are just a few examples of how Simpson residents have engaged with what Chicago has to offer- building community beyond the walls of our building.

Strange faces become familiar and living on campus becomes more than just a room and a bed to sleep. Our Simpson Residence Life team makes Loyola home by connecting with each other and their surrounding Chicago community. Together, we have built a #SimpsonStrong foundation that will continue to grow throughout resident’s Loyola experience.
