This year, Mertz enjoyed a fast-paced fall semester that provided many opportunities to Make Loyola Home through the programmatic and community building efforts of the 17 RAs who work to provide a positive experience for students. These efforts include offering over 50 programs based on the Loyola Experience in an effort to connect students learning in the classroom with where they live. The staff were joined in this effort by the student leaders on Mertz Hall Council.
In looking forward to the spring, the Mertz Hall Council is excited to announce that the annual philanthropic event Mertz ‘til It Hurtz will take place on April 9, 2016. This event supports a fundraising cause close to the heart of the building as voiced by students. Each year, dozens participate in running up the 17 stories of the building to raise money and prove they can do it. The fastest time set last year was below the 2 minute 30 second mark. We hope all on-campus students will consider joining in on the fun on April 9.
