Words of advice from Professor Nestorov

Svetlozar Nestorov

"The next few years will be particularly exciting and rich with opportunities to redefine and change industries and possibly the world!" says Svetlozar Nestorov, associate professor.

Svetlozar Nestorov, associate professor in the department of Information Systems and Supply Chain Management, shares his advice for Quinlan students at the beginning of a new academic year:

"As we emerge from the last 18 months of disruptions and challenges, I hope we all take this opportunity to think and act differently. I always advise my students to consider startups even at the start of their careers but the next few years will be particularly exciting and rich with opportunities to redefine and change industries and possibly the world! Of course, starting a new venture is a risky business but the potential rewards, both personal and financial, are enormous.

"Whether you are a first year or a senior, look for interesting real-world problems and use your knowledge and community at Quinlan and Loyola to create solutions together with your fellow students and professors. After all, not too long ago, Amazon was a lowly online bookstore and Google was just two grad students in a garage."
