New York City: Bright Lights

New York City: Bright Lights

I am so excited that we, Quinlan Ramblers, have officially arrived in New York! It did not feel real until taking our group photo in front of the New York sign inside the airport. I looked out the window with excitement to see the big city and so many tall buildings; it gave me the same feeling as when I had stepped foot in Chicago for the first time in my life. We all got settled down and then took some time to explore around the hotel. It was pouring raining after we had gotten settled, but that did not stop any of us from exploring. My roommate and I were able to check out a few stores, especially ones that you can't find in Chicago. It was so fun to immerse ourselves in a new city and just get to know each other as well.

On our first night, we had a group dinner together in one of our hotel rooms. It was super cute and we all came together. The food was amazing and we were all getting to talk to one another in terms of plans. Right after dinner, we all went out to see Times Square together. The bright lights, non-stop music, and bustling crowd surrounded us from all sides. I could not believe I was seeing a site I had only seen on my phone and photos. It was a great bonding experience as we got to shop around together and get to know each other better. I just knew from this moment we were going to make lasting memories.

I thought we had a memorable first day and it was settling us in for the rest of the week. I just knew from that moment we would do great things as a group and be productive together. I cannot wait for our corporate visits and get to bounce ideas off one another as well as learn from alumni.
