Finally, we land in New York, head straight to the hotel, and right back out to explore the beautiful city. In pouring rain, some friends and I head to Times Square to see the huge billboards and commercials and snap a few pics. I couldn't believe I was finally here. I was so excited to see what New York had in store for us, and we walked around the city, hitting our favorite stores we all know and love. After being drenched in rain, I came back to the hotel to dry up and have a delicious meal with my peers, all snugged up in a hotel room, sharing our first impression of New York with each other.
The next day we wake up bright and early to have breakfast together. On a sunny day in New York, we head to "The Grand Bazaar NYC," a vintage fest with "one-of-a-kind art, fashion, vintage, collectibles, jewelry, antiques, global treasures, and furniture." I myself purchased a vintage purse and handmade jewelry made in Rhode Island. Afterward, we headed to the pier for a sightseeing boat tour where we learned about the history of New York and got to see the iconic Statue of Liberty we all grew up seeing in our textbooks.
To end the day, we go to "Ellen's Stardust Diner" to not only eat but also listen to live, breathtaking performances by our own waiters. I have only been in New York for two days, but wow, I am so impressed, and I have had so much fun. I am so thankful I am here with Loyola and I am so excited to see what else the city has in store for us.
