As we continue our ramble through New York, a sense of excitement and anticipation fills the air. Loyola's commitment to providing unique and enriching experiences for its students shines brightly through the diverse and compelling lineup of activities.

Before the planned activities, a few ramblers had the opportunity to run around New York and explore! A few of us got the big apple donut from Krispy Kreme and created charm bracelets symbolizing their fun time in New York City.

The first scheduled event on the horizon was a meeting with Instinet, a Nomura company that stands as a cornerstone in today's trading environment. Our host, Christopher Thomas, a Loyola alumnus and the current Executive Director, engaged in a delightful conversation over lunch. With a wealth of experience dating back to 2005, Christopher has witnessed the evolution of the financial landscape.

Adding another layer of excitement to this journey is the alumni meeting with Andrew Coombs (BBA ’09). Andrew's impressive journey from Loyola graduate to CPA and the founder, CEO, and managing partner at Coombs CPA PC is nothing short of inspiring. Recognized on esteemed lists such as the NACVA 30 Under 40 and the CPA Society 40 under 40, Andrew's success story is a testament to the caliber of Loyola alumni. The ramblers had a great opportunity to ask Andrew questions and had more flexibility on topics.

As we celebrate Women's History Month, Loyola attended an event hosted by the Financial Women's Association and RBC's RWomen. The spotlight fell on Helima Croft, RBC's Global Head of Commodity Strategy, who engaged in a riveting discussion on geopolitical risks and energy markets with Michelle Caruso-Cabrera, a seasoned CNBC contributor, and former Anchor and Chief International Correspondent. From the Ukraine conflict to global energy supply, this event offered insight into how geopolitical developments can impact markets, oil prices, and the economy. It was a unique opportunity to gain valuable insights from two renowned women experts, offering a diverse perspective on global events.

To cap off this amazing series of events, an Alumni Reception occurred with the most gorgeous view. It provided the perfect setting to connect with fellow graduates and share experiences. It was a chance to foster meaningful connections, exchange stories, and further strengthen the Loyola community.

As we explore New York and gain knowledge, the excitement is not just about the events themselves but the knowledge and connections being made. I can't wait to see what the Ramble to New York has in store for us!
