Boston: KPMG and Jobs for the Future
Today was a warmer day in Boston to conclude our site visits. We started the day off at KPMG, which was one of my favorite site visits. No matter what major you were studying, a lot of people had the same reaction where they enjoyed the site visit. We all learned a lot of what they had to offer for their employees and really connected with us on a more personal, but still professional, level. The panel was also very insightful and provided me with a lot of clarification on which path to take for the future. KPMG is very involved with giving back and really care about making a difference in their community.
After KPMG we headed over to a delicious place for lunch that is luckily found in Boston as well, Chipotle. The neighborhood was full of architectural buildings that came with some amazing character and classical brick roads. Not only can you find the charming character of Boston while walking through the city, but this also transfers to many of the insides of the building, which really made this Chipotle unique.
The second site visit was at a non-profit organization called Jobs for the Future. This was a unique organization which strives to connect the educational field with the workforce. They shared their personal experiences on how they came to the non-profit sector and gave us insight on how they will continue to evolve in 2019 and in the future.
To end the night, we visited the Museum of Science in Boston. The museum had a lot of cool exhibits and is definitely something worth checking out while you are in Boston. Overall, I found today to be very inspirational and insightful day. It was a great way to end the week and all the site visits. I can say I have genuinely enjoyed visiting Boston for the first time, and I cannot wait to come back.
