Got old textbooks? Want to do some good? Then donate them to Books Building Business, a project led by LUC Enactus.
Books Building Business is an effort to collect used textbooks and journals for schools in developing nations.
This year, the first shipment will be to a university in Cambodia, with a second shipment to a Jesuit university in Kenya.
Enactus is an international organization of student, academic, and business leaders committed to using the power of entrepreneurial action to transform lives and shape a better and more sustainable world. In the past, the Loyola branch of Enactus has sent books to Cambodia and Nigeria, with help from professors Clifford Shultz and Gezinus Hidding.
LUC Enactus is asking students to donate their end-of-semester books as an alternative to pocket-change resale this holiday season. Quinlan faculty are also encouraged to make drops while cleaning house in preparation for the move to the new Schreiber Center this summer.
Collection boxes are set up at Water Tower Campus on the first floor of Maguire Hall and on the lower level of the Corboy Law Center as well as on Lake Shore Campus in the Information Commons. Donations of any size are greatly appreciated.
