Words of advice from Professor Geroulis
Eve Geroulis, senior lecturer in marketing, shares her advice for Quinlan students at the beginning of a new academic year:
"What happened in 2020 is both wholly new and deeply ancient. History feels circular. Plagues are not new; they are simply new to us. Mankind is wrestling a broad variety of challenges. Our world is clamoring for new ideas, the iconoclastic progress needed to confront adversaries in a modern way while also relying on wisdom from the past.
"There is no better place to push boundaries, ask questions important to humanity, learn lessons from history, and work to reshape our world than a university classroom. This is your opportunity to work on yourself, define your values, and strive to achieve them. To be courageous, curious, and compassionate.
"Every generation faces a Gordian challenge. This is yours. Channel your full creative capacities. It’s vital that you have faith in yourself, for then you’ll have sublime faith in mankind. And we need that now … more than ever. That is my fondest hope for you all."
