Owen Lewer is highly involved in Loyola and Chicago Street Medicine where he provides low-barrier medical care to people experiencing homelessness on the CTA. His experiences working in that setting led him to conduct research on frostbite injuries in Chicago. The recipient of the Geoffrey Gunnar Memorial Scholarship, Owen plans to pursue family medicine. One of his favorite experiences has been studying in the Loyola Stritch atrium as people stopped by – from admin to campus ministry to friends.
