About

Kathryn Jackson serves as the Director of the Career Development Center (CDC) and of Business Career Services (BCS) in the Quinlan School of Business. The Career Development Center (CDC) of Loyola University Chicago houses career advising, credit-bearing career courses, alumni career advising, employer relations and recruiting, prehealth academic advising, prelaw academic advising, student employment, federal work-study, community-based federal work-study and fellowships. Kathryn, a Chicago native and first generation college graduate, has been working in career services and experiential learning at Loyola University Chicago since 2008. As adjunct faculty, Kathryn has taught a variety of courses in internship preparation and career development.

Kathryn received her BA in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago (Chicago, Il) and her M.Ed. in Counseling and Human Services Management from DePaul University (Chicago, Il) where her research focused on work-place dynamics and motivation. She has engaged with students via alternative break immersion in the Borderlands, launching LUConnect, a campus-wide on-line portal to connect students and alumni in career networking, and serves as a staff adviser to Loyola Limited, a student-run collective of micro-enterprises.

Kathryn has been an Illinois Institute of Technology SASDI Fellow on Diversity, Access and Equity in Career Services; a committee member for the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), and on America’s Urban Campus Pipeline Committee as part of an RFP process for the City of Chicago. She has authored several articles and book chapters for LinkedIn, NCDA, and NSEA.

Kathryn has spent 24 years in student services, 19 of those in career, internship, experiential learning and student employment, earning awards from The College Board, the University of Illinois Alumni Association, and Office of the POTUS Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll. 

Kathryn has completed the following Loyola University Chicago staff/faculty trainings: Safe Space (LGBTQI), I'm Here For You (Survivors of Dating Violence), Share the Dream: Undocumented Ally Training.
