James M. Johnson has been with Loyola since 2000 and joined the CDC in 2013. He serves as the Associate Director of Pre-Health Professions Advising and Chair of the Pre-Health Professions Advisor Committee, offering assistance to undergraduate students, post-baccalaureate students and alumni interested in pursuing health professional careers. He also works closely with the Career Advisors at the Lake Shore Campus and larger CDC staff. Dr. Johnson earned his Ph.D. in 2005 from the University of Michigan’s Center for the Study of Higher and Post-Secondary Education and earned his M.Ed. from Loyola. Over the course of his career, Dr. Johnson has served in the areas of student affairs and academic affairs.  He is published and has presented both scholarly and applied work at a range of national conferences. He has served on the board of the National Association for Advisors for the Health Professions at the national and regional levels. He has taught undergraduate and graduate courses at Loyola, including two he created: UNIV 102 “Explorations of Health Professions” and Sociology 281 “Current Issues in Health Professional Education and Training.”
