Graduate School Information

  • Duke Medical Physics offers students an exciting opportunity to pursue MS and PhD graduate studies at the intersection of science and medicine. They are offering a virtual networking event on Friday October 27, 2023, 3:00-4:15 PM EDT. More than an info session, this is your ticket to a new world where theoretical concepts meet practical applications. Learn more and register in advance here. Before the event, browse our website medicalphysics.duke.edu to see if Duke medical physics is the right choice for you. Witness our program come alive in a playlist of short films at vimeo.com/showcase/9267175 where you can glimpse our state-of-the-art facilities, groundbreaking research, distinguished alumni, and vibrant community that pulses with joy and camaraderie.
  • Biophysics and Chemical Physics graduate programs at the University of Maryland invite undergraduate students to join them for a Virtual Open House on Tuesday, October 31 from 12 - 2 pm to learn more about their PhD programs. Interested students must register here to receive the Zoom meeting information. The programs have partnerships and connections with several nearby national laboratories, including the National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), National Cancer Institute (NCI), and Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Their curriculum is flexible and tailored to each student's background and research interests. We encourage applications from students with diverse scientific and engineering backgrounds and an enthusiasm for interdisciplinary research. The application deadline is Friday, January 5, 2024 with Friday, December 15, 2023 being the preferred application deadline to be considered for fellowship nominations. See the attached flyer.
  • Applications for the Master of Engineering program at the University of Chicago are now open for Autumn 2024. MEng students choose from three focus tracks: Bio- and Immunoengineering, Materials for Sustainability and Health, and Computational Modeling of Materials. Each track blends innovation leadership with technical application and experiential learning in its curriculum.
  • Master of Science (MS) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Medical Physics programs at Washington University in St. Louis, which are open to students with a bachelor’s degree and a strong background in physics. The MS program is accredited by the Committee on the Accreditation of Medical Physics Education Programs (CAMPEP) and is a 30 credit hour, two-year program aimed at preparing students for careers in medical physics, which can include jobs in clinical settings, academia, industry and in government agencies, among others. For those with interest in clinical careers, the program prepares graduates for moving into accredited clinical residency programs.
  • Explore Notre Dame Biophysics Graduate Program. See the attached brochure. Deadline for graduate school applications is December 1, 2023.
  • Notre Dame Materials Science and Engineering aims to promote the interdisciplinary understanding of materials through collaborative research to advance knowledge and promote the greater good. Graduate students can pursue their passion for materials research in semiconductors, quantum matter, polymers, biomaterials, and actinides. Learn more here. See the attached flyer.
