Pope Francis Visit
Message originally sent Tuesday, February 22, 2022
Dear Parkinson Family,
You have probably heard the exciting news – Loyola University Chicago is hosting Pope Francis for the virtual dialogue, Building Bridges North-South, on Thursday! During this historic encounter, the Pope will dialogue with university students, highlighting migrants and children of migrants who are committed to developing processes that justly transform environmental and economic realities related to human migration and displacement.
I am proud to share that our own Joaquin Guzman was one of 13 Loyola students selected to participate in the working groups for this event. Each group consists of approximately 20 students from different universities, studying diverse fields across the humanities and sciences. These groups met over the past few weeks, listening, sharing their stories, reflecting on their common interests, and discerning concrete projects together on which to focus their collaborative work.
In support of Joaquin and other Loyola students who are participating, I encourage you to register and watch this virtual conversation on Thursday, February 24, at noon (CT). If you are unable to watch it live, a recording will be made available.
