NHA Annual Meeting and Humanities Advocacy Day
Last year, we sent a forceful message to Congress that we opposed President Trump’s efforts to eliminate funding for the National Endowment for the Humanities. Thanks to your advocacy, Congress has roundly rejected Trump’s proposal at every step of the appropriations process. This coming year we need to build on that support and push for increases for the NEH and other humanities funding streams.
This year’s Annual Meeting will provide ample opportunity to connect with a growing number of humanities advocates from around the country. Together, we will explore approaches to year-round advocacy on college campuses and in local communities while also preparing for Capitol Hill visits. On March 13, we will visit House and Senate offices to make a persuasive case for federal funding for the humanities.
