Technology Support Services

The Instructional Technology and Research Support (ITRS) team is looking forward to providing you with the technical support you and your students need. We want to remind you of some of the technology support services that are available to you and your students for your on-ground, blended and online courses throughout the year.

Help Desk

The ITS Help Desk is your single point of contact for technology support. Please contact the Help Desk for assistance with your password or to schedule technical support, including hardware and software questions, consulting, installations, and network connection requests. We've expanded support hours to include evenings and weekends.

If you are planning on bringing a personal technology device that requires wireless connectivity you may need to re-register your device. Every device connecting to the network via wired or wireless must be registered. Registrations are maintained for 120 days or for 14 days of inactivity, whichever comes first.

Assistance is available to you and your students regarding problems with accessing and using the Sakai system, as well as issues pertaining to any integration tool such as Turnitin, i>clicker, and Adobe Connect. This includes weekends and University holidays.

Adobe Connect Support

Many of you have taken advantage of the Adobe Connect training sessions offered over the past few years. You are welcome to attend any future sessions. Documentation can also be accessed by visiting www.luc.edu/itrs and clicking on Adobe Connect under Teaching with Technology.

Additional technical support is available on a limited basis. Requests for assistance can be submitted to the ITS Help Desk (ext. 8-4ITS or helpdesk@luc.edu). They will log a ticket and you will be contacted. Those requests submitted after 5:00PM or on weekends will be returned the next business day. In the unlikely event the Adobe Connect server is unavailable, a notification will be sent to your Loyola email account.

On-site classroom support is available throughout the year. Additionally, the classroom systems will be checked early each morning to verify functionality. Please contact the ITS Help Desk (ext. 8-4ITS or helpdesk@luc.edu) if you are interested in scheduling a quick tutorial of the system prior to your first class.

For emergency assistance, use the classroom phone to call ext. 8-4ITS. A classroom technician will be dispatched immediately.

With a variety of computers and devices available for your students to access for your course, Information Technology Services has assembled a collection of software, hardware and mobile recommendations for guidance. TechConnect (https://myits.luc.edu/techconnect) is a resource that will assist in guiding students and faculty to software and hardware that have been reviewed by ITS staff and reviewed for your personal and/or academic use.

Did you know that faculty, staff and students have access to a no-charge self-service Equipment Loan Program filled with camcorders, digital cameras, projectors and other equipment? For students interested in additional training resources, we've assembled a variety of resources on the Online Learning website. The "Tech Check" module, for example, runs a variety of tests against your computer to determine its compatibility with the various systems we use to facilitate online course delivery.
