Why did you choose to come to Loyola?
Loyola is a safe and well-equipped school, so I decided Loyola is the best choice. Also, it is located in Chicago — one of the biggest cities in America.
What have you enjoyed so far about living in the International House?
I do enjoy living in the International House, I had never met so many people from different countries before. They speak different languages and have different cultural backgrounds. Because of this, I can always find someone to practice both my English and Spanish.
Moreover, there are many activities held in I-House, such as international food festival, pumpkin carving night, etc. We can enjoy food from different areas, and through these activities, we can meet and make many friends.
Where do you go in Chicago for fun?
I like the neighborhood Wicker Park a lot which I explored in the class Chicago experience. This neighborhood is quite different from others. It is famous for its art studios and unique second-hand stores and food. Many artists gather together there and make that place become a place full of art.
Have you traveled anywhere else in the US? Where was your favorite?
I’ve been to Washington D.C and Los Angeles with Chicago center. Excepting Chicago, L.A. is my favorite place because the weather there is not as cold as Chicago. And there are many interesting places like The Universal Studios and Hollywood. And I do enjoy the yoga on the beach.
What will you miss most about the International House/Loyola/Chicago?
I’ll miss everyone in I-House, because everyone here is so nice and helps me a lot. Both the students and the stuff, we live together, we have so much enjoyable time together. I’ll miss Loyola, many professors are very nice to our international students. I visited my professor and had a great dinner with her. I also decorated her Christmas tree which was an amazing experience for me. People in Chicago are the most kind-hearted guys I’ve ever seen, they are always willing to help others. I cannot image how sad I will be when I leave here.
