Off-Campus Student Life hosts a number of programs and services for commuter students. Read on for more details on how you can get connected and stay involved.
Commuter Connect gatherings are specifically designed to provide commuter students with the opportunity to connect with peers. Ecah Commuter Connect is conceived, planned, and executed by our Commuter Ambassador team with each event having a unique theme and activity. Joe n’ Go is held every Tuesday starting at 9 a.m. when the Off-Campus Student Life staff provides a free cup of coffee for non-residential students in the Commuter Resource Room (Damen Student Center, Room 212). A staff member is present to address any non-residential student concerns. This event is open to all non-residential students.
Commuter Appreciation Days are held one day each month to acknowledge the commitment commuting students make to being successful at Loyola University Chicago. During this monthly celebration, commuter students can pick up a free cup of coffee or tea during at Joe n' Go, attend a Commuter Open House hosted by an office within the Division of Student Development, and enjoy a $1 slice of pizza from Aramark.
Off-Campus Student Life has a number of programs to help make Loyola your home away from home. As a reward for your participation in our events, we would like to give you something to show your pride!
Be one of the first 250 commuter students to attend 10 Off-Campus Student Life events and earn your COMMUTER PROUD! scarf or tumbler! Students are required to provide their student ID when attending any OCSL event. Below is a list of all qualifying OCSL Events:
- Joe n' Go Tuesdays (weekly)
- Commuter Student Study Sessions (weekly)
- Commuter Connect Gatherings (Four per Semester)
- Commuter Appreciation Days (monthly)

The Off-Campus Student Life Newsletter is an electronic newsletter distributed monthly and published by Off-Campus Student Life to keep commuter students informed and connected to the on campus community. The publication begins in August and continues throughout the academic year.
Commuters are able to purchase a locker at the Damen Student Center Information Desk. $60 for a full year (2017-2018) or $30per semester. Lockers will become available after August 18th, 2017. Visit the Damen Student Center Information Desk for more details.
There are several lounges located around campus where students study, relax in between classes, and socialize with their peers. The following buildings have various lounges and common spaces that are open to all Loyola students. There are also several coffee shops located by LSC & WTC that students frequent.

Commuter Mix & Mingles (M&Ms) are bi-weekly gatherings hosted in our Commuter Resource Room (DSC 212). These events are often centered around trivia, crafts, and games. View our Fall 2017 Commuter M&M schedule below.
