Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners assess the mental health needs of communities, individuals, families and groups. The DNP program prepares students with extensive education in integration and implementation of care, psychopharmacology, psychotherapy, practice evaluation, consultation and liaison in order to pass the national certification exam and become licensed by the state.

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners formulate healthcare plans, implement treatment, and evaluate the effectiveness of shot- and long- term progress. Graduates of Loyola University Chicago’s DNP program will lead the translation of evidence into practice to improve outcomes of care and also be prepared to improve the systems of health care.
