Research/Scholarly Interests and Selected Publications

Dr. Poronsky’s research interest is the transition from Registered Nurse (RN) to Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and the effect of mentoring.  Her PhD Dissertation explored the effect of faculty mentoring on transition balance in Family Nurse Practitioner students. Additional research, supported in part by funding from the Ruth K. Palmer Memorial Endowment Fund, was conducted with focus groups to examine how nurse practitioner students experience the transition from RN to FNP during graduate school.
