Carolyn Brady Riley maintains a private voice studio in the Fine Arts Building at 410 S Michigan in Chicago. She also serves as a Voice Teacher in the Musical Theatre Department in the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University in Chicago and at Loyola University Chicago. Formerly, she taught Applied Voice, Opera Workshop, and University Chorale in the Music Department at Saint Xavier University in Chicago.

She has music directed for professional theatre: The Wedding Singer, the Jeff-Nominated The Who’s Tommy (named one of the Best of Chicago Theatre 2009 in the Chicago Sun Times) and Meet Me In St. Louis at Circle Theatre, college productions at Moraine Valley College and Triton College, and children’s theatre for Circle Theatre Emerging Young Artists Program and St. Francis High School.

She served as Assistant Vocal Director for the All-State Cast of Hairspray at the 2009 Illinois High School Theatre Festival in Champaign-Urbana. She has music directed and directed several productions chosen to be performed at the festival including Seussical, Into the Woods (St. Francis High School) and Shrek (St. Ignatius College Prep). For 17 years, she has enjoyed working with young performers at St. Francis College Preparatory High School in Wheaton as their play and musical director and as Director of the Kuhn Cultural Arts Center.  In 2014, she was inducted into her alma mater's Fine Arts Hall of Fame at Nazareth Academy in La Grange Park, IL.  She is a current member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing and the Chicago Chapter.

Her current and former students have performed with the Broadway Cast of Book of Mormon, Broadway in Chicago, NBC's The Voice, Walt Disney World, the Southwest Symphony, the Chicago Children’s Choir, Lyric Opera Children’s Chorus, Chicago Opera Theatre, and the Bishop of the Joliet Diocese. She has served as a judge for both the Illinois Music Educators Association Honors Choir and the Illinois High School Association Solo Ensemble Contest and was invited to be the Suburban Catholic Conference Honors Chorus Conductor in 2002.   

Carolyn has performed in the opera, musical theatre, and concert genres.

While studying in the Opera Apprentice Program at Brevard Music Center in North Carolina, Carolyn coordinated a recital, An Afternoon of Opera, for patrons of the festival.  She has presented numerous recitals (Peoria Opera Guild, Intimate Opera, Illinois State University, Morgan Park Sunshine Club) and was honored to be invited to sing for then Lt. Governor Quinn of Illinois for his inauguration.  She directed and performed in Songs from the Sanctuary, a new recital series at First Unitarian Church in Hyde Park and appeared as the Soprano soloist in their Mendelssohn's Elijah in 2014.  Recently, she presented a recital in Chicago and Bloomington in 2016.
