Second Annual Graduate Symposium in Hispanic Studies

Second Annual Graduate Symposium in Hispanic Studies

Every spring the Spanish Masters program of the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures hosts a Graduate Symposium in Hispanic Studies. The most recent symposium on February 27th 2016 focused on Justice: En pro de los menesterosos - La Justicia. The symposium opened with comments from Loyola's Dr. Joy Gordon, Ignacio Ellacuría SJ Professor of Social Ethics. The keynote speaker for the event was Dr. Cecilia Salmerón Tellechea of the Universidad Iberoamericana, the Jesuit university of Mexico City.

In addition to the participation of graduate students from Loyola and nearby universities, this year's symposium included an undergraduate panel. For more information on this event and Loyola’s Spanish Graduate Program see http://www.luc.edu/modernlang/ma-spanish/.
