ARABIC الخَطّ العَرَبيّ CALLIGRAPHY

We are thankful to our kind professional calligraphist and musician Mr. Majed Abu Ajameyeh for his theoretical/historical orientation on diverse calligraphy styles, now and then, and the arithmetic nexus and interplay among arts and sciences in the Arab/ Islamic world (STEAM). At such universally perplexed socio-political times, our event also hoped to shed light on inclusive sublime cross- cultural adaptations of calligraphy, interdisciplinary religious depictions of calligraphy in portraits (e.g, Mary, the mother of Jesus, in Eastern Contexts), and the awe-inspiring critical thinking involved in its legacy. It has been also vitally significant to introduce women’s contribution to the art across historical contexts. Please join me, Dr. Sawsan Abbadi, Director of the Arabic Language & culture Minor in viewing our snapshots of students’ engagement
