Requirements
The Middle East and Islamic World Studies minor requires five courses (15 credit hours)
Students are required to take one of the following courses:
- HIST 209: Survey of Islamic History
- HONR 212: Encountering the Middle East
- PLSC 368: Politics of the Middle East
- THEO 295: Islam
Additionally, students must take four other courses from a variety of courses offered by different departments. Please see the program catalog for a complete list of the elective courses. Language courses such as Arabic at any level may count for up to six units (two courses) of the minor. Up to three courses (nine units) may be shared (double-dipped) with any Major or Minor program. Internships and courses taken during study abroad in a Middle Easter or Muslim country will count towards the minor.
