Dr. Karin Lange received a B.S. in civil and environmental engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and taught middle school mathematics in Camden, NJ. She then earned a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction and an Ed.D. in Curriculum, Instruction, and Technology in Education with a focus on Math Education from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Lange’s research has focused on the use of correct and incorrect examples in learning algebra, mathematical flexibility, and the benefits of research partnerships on instructional change in math classrooms. She has presented her research to the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and the American Education Research Association, among others. Dr. Lange’s prior experience includes serving as an instructional coach and mathematics consultant in Philadelphia schools and as the Director of Curriculum & Instruction for a diverse school district in Wisconsin. Dr. Lange currently serves as the Assistant Director for Math Programs at the Center for Science and Math Education at Loyola.
