Funk, Gerald

Bio

Dr. Funk holds an S.B. degree from the University of Chicago, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Statistics from Michigan State University. Before joining the Loyola faculty, he taught at Michigan State University, Purdue University, Oklahoma State University, and Northern Illinois University. His research interests include statistics, applied probability, and computer simulation. Dr. Funk has been an active member of the Chicago Chapter of the American Statistical Association, recently holding positions of Director-at-Large and Vice-President for Workshops. His research in statistics has appeared in numerous journals including Stochastic Processes and Their Applications, the Journal of Applied Probability, the National Tax Journal, the North American Journal of Fisheries and Management, and the Journal of Health Care Marketing. Recently, Dr. Funk co-authored with Dr. Buntinas an introductory mathematical statistics textbook, Statistics for the Sciences, Wadsworth Publishing (2004).
